Clubhouse - 6th December 2012 - The Pool goes Live!


A truly auspicious day in the club's long history - the day when we finally got to use our own pool in our own clubhouse!

Dave Hoskins and Tony Spencer have devoted untold hours to building the pool and poolroom, as well as much of the rest of the interior of the building. Determined to be the first people to dive in the pool, they arranged a secret assignation before other club members arrived.

With the pool lights switched on and the room lights switched off, it looked absolutely amazing!





Chairman Robin Maggs was instrumental in getting the whole clubhouse venture off the ground. He then skillfully guided the entire construction process as the official project manager. On the pretext of gathering members together for a group photo, the opportunity was taken to divest Robin of his jacket and shoes and ensure that he became the next person to "celebrate" the pool coming in to use.

21:00 - 21:30

Newcomer Deborah Sanders claimed the distinction of being the first trainee to receive instruction in our own pool. Training Officer Nigel Wichall took her through her paces.
